Homeostasis is critical in maintaining the weight lost with an induction médicine or else you might as well join a yo-yo club. Losing that weight should be possible for most willed individuals. It's keeping it off that you have to stick to and if you thought staying off heroine was difficult. welcome to sugar addiction world.
For every action there is an equal
and opposite reaction. Unless you make sure the decrease in leptin levels or
the increase in insulin induced by your 45 inch waistline circumferences is counteracted by an equal and physiological increase in your muscle mass, we are trying to row against the current. You will be insulin resistant. You will replace muscle with fat.
Building static muscle mass is the name of the game. Think of
this as starting a V8 motor of an old ford and then kissing your girlfriend
goodbye, mind you I didn't say your wife. You come back to find you have to
refill the tank. You don’t need to take the car for a spin to loose the fat. You won't build any if you idled at this consumption rate anyway.
This is
my language if you understand the anology, increase your basal metabolism and you lose calories while
idling. Some are born that way, the rest of us have to try fool our bodies into that mode, through muscle.
Don't starve. You need all the micro nutrients that are part of whole and natural
food. Your health depends on it, therefore asking you to limit your intake is
an insult to medical fraternity or God's concept of Garden of eden plenty.
You need to exercise to be fit of course, but losing weight on the treadmill is a slog. You definitely don’t need to starve to lose weight either; in fact the opposite
is true in every sense. The body will adjust to your starvation tactics and it won't work.
Just eat as whole, as unprocessed and natural food as possible. The analogy
of sailing against the wind is as appropriate as any. We will reach our
destination in the long run, but to sustain the trips will be next to
impossible when your competitor uses the wind to his advantage. Join the winning team by increasing your basal metabolic rate.
Weight loss industry is unfortunately saturated by many of ‘I
also attended the day course at the church group” loons. We can only hope that our professional
voice will be heard through all the confusion. Take your time, nobody loses
weight in a week, period. Fast is relative.
If biochemistry and physiology are the elements of every mix, then results are assured
I agree with you Dr Makgala.
